SUMMARY:MNRI®: A Spark of Hope for Hypoxic Brain Injuries
DESCRIPTION:MNRI®: A Spark of Hope for Hypoxic Brain Injuries\n\nMNRI® often has been referred to as “The Missing Link” for neurologically based challenges. The MNRI method of reflex integration addresses brain stem skills instead of targeting the traditional cortical approach. With the end goal of integrating primary reflex patterns, MNRI® also addresses the regulation of the sensory system, muscle tone, the auditory/visual/vestibular systems, oral motor coordination, and trauma recovery. This presentation will introduce the profound tasks of primary reflexes as a basis for protection and survival, neuroplasticity, and neurodevelopment. The bulk of the presentation will then explain how MNRI® can facilitate the development (or redevelopment) of motor skills, feeding, language, cognition, and social skills following a debilitating hypoxic brain injury (HIE).\n\nPresenter: Laurie Longest, MS, developmental pediatric physical therapist, MNRI® Instructor, and Core Specialist with the Svetlana Masgutova Educational Institute\n
